Project Management Game

Countdown®: A Strategy Game for Project Teams — Product Overview

The Business Simulation
Countdown begins with a project management game that quickly immerses participants in an intense seven-month project. In small teams, learners use game boards to move through project milestones, make critical decisions, communicate with stakeholders and manage trade-offs — all under tight deadlines. In less than an hour into the project management game, teams are working with a Gantt chart, estimating potential delays and costs, evaluating the critical path, assessing project risks and making decision trade-offs. Finally, teams learn how to drive a project to success.

Connections — Bridging to Your Organization
The second half of the session bridges from the simulation to the learners’ own work environments and project management issues. Exercises called “Connections,” which are provided in the program, deal with a number of questions:

  • How are new projects initiated at our company?

  • What is expected of project teams?

  • How does our company evaluate project success?

You can also consider working with Paradigm Learning to fully customize the Connections exercises to ensure that the concepts and tools are the right fit for your learners and your company.
